Team

Max Montgomery, founder

In 2001, the experience helping children with special needs surf with Ride a Wave (RAW) in Santa Cruz, CA enriched Max's life in ways he couldn't imagine. He's been an active RAW volunteer and board member ever since. Max co-founded Best Day Foundation in 2008 and ran it for 5 years, and later co-founded and ran Tommie Cares Foundation - helping thousands of children with special needs enjoy surfing, paddling, snow sports, and more with thousands of community volunteers in CA, NJ, NY, and CT. With Paddle4Good, Max is stoked to connect with more like-minded individuals who thrive when helping others learn, grow, & reach beyond their dreams. Max is an AHA-certified Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor as well as a WPA (World Paddle Association) Level 1 Certified SUP instructor. Outside of Paddle4Good, you'll find Max volunteering, surfing, paddling, or working in tech.

Tye Conklin, board member

A Coast Guard rescue swimmer for 19+ years, Tye's been decorated multiple times for his heroism & commitment to helping others. Starting in 2008, he's put his skills to good use running safety at numerous water & snow events for those with special needs with Best Day Foundation and Tommie Cares Foundation. Tye also engaged his entire family & community in volunteering. Now, a father of a 2-year old, he's thrilled to create more life-changing experiences for others with Paddle4Good.
